Eastern County Regional Library

The Eastern County Regional Library will send books by mail, InterLibrary loans and even has a visiting library service. Search the catalogue online and use the OverDrive app (available through Google Play or iTunes) to borrow and read e-books or listen to audio books on your tablet device! 

Read Write Think

ReadWriteThink aims to provide educators, parents, and afterschool professionals with access to the highest quality practices in reading and language arts instruction by offering the very best in free materials. Students from grades K-12 can access online literacy learning with interactive tools, including topics such as (1) organizing and summarizing, (2) inquiry and analysis, (3) writing poetry, (4) writing and publishing prose, and (5) learning about language.

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives

The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) is a National Science Foundation (NSF) supported project that began in 1999 to develop a library of uniquely interactive, web-based virtual manipulatives or concept tutorials, mostly in the form of Java applets, for mathematics instruction (K-12 emphasis). All students benefit from the use of manipulatives. This website may be especially useful for students doing mathematics at home where manipulatives may not be available.

McGraw Hill Virtual Manipulatives

McGraw Hill Virtual Manipulatives include a large variety of manipulatives commonly used for elementary and middle school mathematics. There are also a number of workmats or backgrounds that can be added, for example, centimetre grid paper. The money is American, however the remaining manipulatives (i.e. temperature, linear measurement) are available in both standard and metric. All students benefit from the use of manipulatives. This website may be especially useful for students doing mathematics at home where manipulatives may not be available.

National Centre for Education Statistics: Create a Graph

The National Centre for Education Statistics Kid's Zone provides engaging games, quizzes and skill building math activities specific to probability and graphing. The graphing tool, in particular, will be useful to students doing math at home.

Pearson Math Tools

Interactive math tools that include many of the manipulatives currently used in the math program from grades 4-9.All students benefit from the use of manipulatives. This website may be especially useful for students doing mathematics at home where manipulatives may not be available.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. The website has no ads or subscription.
